They had three daughters: Elizabeth (Ryan) Voorhees, Tina (Mike) Hidde and Julia Connolly. He met the love of his life, Patricia Runnebohm in 1956 and they were married in February of 1957. He grew up in the Ben Davis Creek Christian and Plum Creek Church and was a member of St. He was particularly fond of the Little League Baseball Championships and Women's softball. He enjoyed College/Pro football and basketball. Pete seldom missed any of his girls many activities. He was a member of the New Salem Lions Club, served on the Rush County Sheriff Merit Board, The Shares Board, and the Rush County ARC Board. Pete was very community minded and volunteered for several community service organizations. His final retirement job, and the one he probably loved the most, was working for the Rush County Food Pantry. He also had a small Water Purification Business. After retiring from the County Highway, he worked for the former Royster Clark then Crop Production Services in Rushville & Homer. He retired from farming in 1985 and began working for the Rush County Highway. He then went into farming with his father. Pete graduated from Mays in 1954 and then went on to take the Purdue Short course in 1955. Pete entered the world with a twin brother, William "Billy" H. Walter Hollis "Pete" Osting was born to Robert and Helen "Hinchman" Osting in Union Township on August 24, 1935.
